Clinchfield Consulting Group is an Environmental consulting firm looking for a full-time Surveyor to support our growing freight rail program. Applicants must have a good work ethic and a willingness to learn. We rely on our professionals to deliver services in a timely and professional manner.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Perform boundary and topographic surveys for railroad related projects
· Perform pre-construction staking, construction staking and as-builts for railroad related projects
· Perform boundary and topographic surveys transportation projects.
· Perform pre-construction staking, construction staking and as-builts for transportation projects.
· Perform county research and review documents in order to complete survey objectives.
· Review client records in order to complete survey objectives.
· Consult with clients, project managers, team members and site superintendents/construction crews on projects.
· Provide technical expertise, as it relates to land surveying
· Perform other duties as needed
· Must be able to perform job duties outside of a typical office environment. Will communicate with supervisor and other team members via phone and video calls

Applicants must have a good work ethic and a willingness to learn. We rely on our professionals to deliver services in a timely and professional manner.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Conduct asbestos surveys and contractor oversight.
· Accurately document field activities using provided field forms and electronic surveying application.
· Communicate with program management, project staff, and subcontractors to obtain project information needed for preparation of technical reports.
· Review field documentation pertaining to industrial hygiene/air quality inspections.
· Evaluate accuracy and completeness of field submittals, confirm findings, and develop recommendations under the guidance of technical leadership.
· Understand and interpret laboratory reports.
· Prepare technical memorandums and reports.
· Perform other duties as needed.
· Travel to client sites within your designated territory. Overnight travel may be required.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in science-related field (or 10 years of field experience)
· 4+ years of industry experience
· Proficiency with MS Office and Adobe
· Ability to use a surveying/mapping application on hand-held devices. Training will be provided with the expectation that proficiency will be attained through practice and consistent usage of the required surveying application.
· Excellent technical and general communication skills.
· Self-motivated, able to work independently and with a project team in a fast-paced environment.
· An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned
culture is a must.
· Ability to obtain railroad badging through enrollment in ISNetworld (ISN), a supplier information management system utilized by freight rail clients.
·Willingness to adhere to the FRA drug and alcohol program
